Groupon - Buyer Beware - Misleading Ad & No Refund for Any reason
I bought a Groupon Tour from Seattle Segway Tour through Groupon for two people for a total cost of $82.00 on August 1st 2017. I could not activate the Groupon immediately because the tour group only allows reservations 30 days in advance. A week later I checked back and discovered the business would close on Sept 15th until April 1st 2018. I was planning on using the Groupon on Sept 20th when I would be in Seattle on vacation. When I notified Groupon by chat that I wanted a refund they stated they have three day refund policy. I said the ad was misleading because there was no info about tor company closing on Sept 15th. Even the tour group website makes no mention that they close for winter. After more complaints by me, a Rep offered Groupon credit to be used for another offer. All these correspondence occurred over many days and many emails. On Monday I found a Groupon I could use for my credit and which would reluctantly cause me to spend another $82.00; so I notified Groupon I wanted to use the credit option. They sent a email that the offer was no longer usable because they already accepted their quota or credits for that offer. The quota limits seems to indicate they mislead many customers with this offer or it is just part of their bait and switch tactics. The general impression I get is they will never refund any money to anyone once they get it. There Cust Service responses are scripted, canned and never offer a refund. You will never talk to a real person by phone in the USA because you can't find or get a phone number.
